Keefe Roberts's practice focuses on representing depository and non-depository mortgage lenders, servicers and investors. He represents the lending industry as a litigator, and as regulatory compliance counsel.
Keefe served for many years as in-house counsel for two of the largest non-prime mortgage lenders in the nation. At his prior position, he oversaw all litigation nationwide for the company, and participated in various aspects of the company's efforts to ensure its compliance with applicable consumer mortgage lending laws.
His experience includes the defense of both individual and putative class action cases arising under various federal, state and local consumer lending laws and regulations, as well as mortgage securities law, bankruptcy and foreclosure law, creditor's rights and lender liability defense, real property litigation, and labor and employment litigation.
He is a frequent speaker on consumer lending and litigation developments. He served as Chairman of the Orange County Bar Association's Financial Practices Section, and currently serves on the Legal Servicing Advisory Committee of the American Legal and Financial Network.
Keefe received his Juris Doctor from Chapman University, and his undergraduate degree with honors from the University of South Florida. He is an active member of the Orange County Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the national Mortgage Bankers Association, the California Mortgage Bankers Association, the United Trustee Association, and the American Legal and Financial Network.
He is admitted to the State Bar of California, and the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.
